HON. ALIYU SANI MADAKIN GINI He presented this resolution on Tuesday in the parliament session. The member of parliament argued that these are the boundaries of Maigari in Jigawa state. Mai Aduwa and the skull in Katsina state and Ilela in Sokoto state. Although Kano state has become a major center of international trade that is conducted between Nigerian businessmen and businessmen from neighboring countries such as Niger, Mali, Chad, Cameroon, and other countries bordering Nigeria.
Aliyu Madaki said that although we are aware of the sanctions imposed by the West African Economic Development Council, the military has attempted a coup d'état in Niger.
In the same way, Madaki Gini added that due to the closure of the Borders, the movement of the Communities at the Borders has been restricted. And it brought about the cutting off of business relations that have been going on for years, especially in Kano state which is the center of business in Northern and Nigeria at all.
The Member of Parliament added that the closure of the Borders has led to the proliferation of Fasa Kauri and has led to an increase in the involvement of young people in terrorist activities which has led to insecurity in the states in Northern Nigeria.
Finally, Aliyu Madakin Gini said that if the Federal Government opens these Borders and security measures are put in place for all the goods that will be brought into the country, this will lead to the development of peace and good relations between Nigeria and neighboring countries. And it will deal with the prevalence of Fraud which is causing serious damage to the Nigerian Economy.
This is coming after the Senate withdrew the motion to reopen the border which was brought before it by the senator from Kano South, Hon Kawu Sumaila.
