The governor of Zamfara state, Dauda Lawal, has urged the people of the state to use the time of Mauludi to pray and seek God's favor in order to restore peace and stability in the state.
The governor said that there will be no progress in any way if there is no peace, stressing that peace is the basis of progress.
Governor Lawal was the chief guest at the Maulud celebration commonly known as Maulud Rabidah which is usually held in the capital of Gusau state.
Lawal said that the attendance of the meeting shows how the government is committed to creating peace and harmony among the people of the state.
He urged the people of Zamfara to take responsibility for each other's well-being and work together to achieve peace and stability.
The governor charged the community to maintain good morals and follow the teachings of the Messenger of God (PBUH), especially teaching children to seek knowledge and good morals.
"As the leader in charge of public welfare, I am calling on religious scholars and the public to play an active role in identifying and reporting any problem that needs the government's immediate attention," he said.
