FG approved to pay ASUU their Salaries, wages During strike—Legacies channels

 


 President Bola Tinubu has ordered the payment of ASSU University staff their salaries withheld during their strike.

 A statement issued by the spokesperson of the president, Ajuri Ngelale, on Friday, said Tinubu also referred to the government's policy of not paying the staff after they went on strike for eight months out of 14.  for February 2022 to October 17, 2022.

 The statement said that the president did this to show sympathy for the Staff.

 "In his efforts to reduce the problems faced during the implementation of important economic reforms in this country, with the approval and implementation of the plans reached in the negotiations between ASUU and the Federal Government of Nigeria, Tinubu gave  and an order to suspend the issue of unpaid work, which will allow ASUU members to receive four months' salary out of eight," the statement said.
