JUST IN: Deputy Senate President Appoints Nasarawa state, Agwatashi Native, Deedat As SLA


The Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Jibrin I. Barau has appointed the founder of Deedat Foundation, Dr. Osolafia Muhammed Egyegbola as his Senior Legislative Aide (SLA). 

This was made known in a letter of appointment dated September 21st signed by NASS's secretary on Human Resources and Staff Development, Birma Shuaibu Maina on behalf of the Clerk. 

According to the letter, the appointment, 'non pensionable and short time', takes effect from June 13th. 

Mr Egyegbola popularly known as Deedat who also confirmed the appointment in a Facebook post on Friday by his loyalist boy Isa Suleiman Agida in on behalf of his Boss thanked the Deputy Senate President for finding him worthy of the task. 

He also thanked his Representative at the 10th Senate, Senator Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo (PDP, Nasarawa South), stating that the “gesture became possible with his influence and support”. 

“I am truly privileged to have the opportunity to serve under your leadership and contribute to the legislative process. I am committed to working diligently and efficiently to support your legislative duties and help you in any way I can. As a Senior Legislative Aide, I understand the importance of your role in shaping legislation and serving the nation, and I am fully dedicated to assisting you in achieving your goals.

“I would like to express my appreciation for the trust and confidence you have placed in me by appointing me to this crucial position. I assure you that I will work hard to uphold the integrity of the office and meet the high expectations set before me.

“I am aware that this position comes with great responsibility, and I am fully prepared to face any challenges that may arise. I am eager to learn from your experience and guidance, and I am confident that together we can make a positive impact on the legislative process.

“Once again, I would like to express my gratitude for this appointment. I am thankful for the opportunity to work with such a dedicated and esteemed leader like yourself. I look forward to the journey ahead and the chance to contribute meaningfully to the legislative endeavors of the office of the Deputy Senate President.  

“Thank you once again for entrusting me with this appointment,” the statement reads further. 

Deedat, an alumnus of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) hails from Agwatashi, Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
