The new security force was created by the state governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, who since the election campaign, the governor promised to establish this force to help provide security in the state.
In the first phase, the Governor started with the 8 local governments that had the most security problems in the state, where 1,466 people were recruited.
The local governments affected by the security problem include, Batsari, Safana, Danmusa, Kankara, Faskari, Dandume, Sabuwa and Jibia.
Delivering his speech during the inauguration of the new army, the Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umar Radda stated that
"His government has allocated seven thousand and eight hundred million naira to improve security in Katsina State", where he created this army to help the security of the state.
Among the funds that were used to train them, 65 hilux cars, 10 armored cars, 700 motorcycles, guns and other security equipment were bought.
The new security force will work together with the security forces of the army, police and other security agencies, to improve the security of Katsina State, especially the local governments affected by the security problem.
In addition, the Governor launched forty (40) vehicles that he provided under Hulu Mar Transport in Katsina State to transport students and their teachers in Katsina town to reduce the pain of the withdrawal of fuel subsidies.
The meeting held at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina on Tuesday 10/10/2023, was attended by former President Muhammad Buhari, and the North West Governors.
