The Chicago State University in the United States has released the transcripts of President Bola Tinubu, after the 2023 presidential candidate under the PDP party, Atiku Abubukar, requested it.
At the end of last week, a district court in northern Illinois in the United States ordered that Tinubu's school documents be handed over to Atiku.
In response to Atiku's third request for the release of a copy of the 1977 degree results, the university said the documents were the same as Tinubu's which was dated June 27, 1977.
"After extensive investigation, CSU University has identified and submitted the requested documents in response to this request. The document numbers are CSUO008 to CSU0010.
"The names of the students on the documents have been deleted because their names have been anonymized.
"CSU will also release the results of the students who are close to him, with the number CSU0011 and number 0017 of some students after the names have been added (because their names have been withheld)".
"These documents are consistent with that of Tinubu, the student who was transferred," the university wrote.
Earlier, Tinubu claimed to have lost his original documents from the university, which made him submit to INEC another document as an alternative to the original documents for the Nigerian presidential race in 2023.
Many documents are circulating on social media as evidence of Tinubu's graduation from Chicago State University.
The stamp and badge released by CSU University in 1977 are the same as the one presented by President Tinubu to INEC, except that there is a difference in the date.
However, in the statement made by the university, it took responsibility for the error found in the date, saying that there was a mistake in writing.
There was also confusion when the gender of a woman with a male child was seen in Tinubu's documents.
